Integrated wetlands purify domestic sewage, improving water quality in new countryside.
The study looked at how well a wetland system can clean up sewage in rural areas. They set up a special wetland system and found that it did a good job of removing pollutants from the water. The system consistently removed over 64% of CODCr, TP, and NH4+-N, and over 40% of TN. The water that came out of the system met the standards for clean water. The second part of the wetland system worked better than the first part, but both parts helped clean up the water. This research can help improve sewage treatment in rural areas.
