Researchers studied how rainfall affects runoff on loess hillslopes. They found that runoff intensity changes quickly at the start of rainfall, then stabilizes. More intense rainfall leads to more runoff. Steeper slopes and longer lengths also increase runoff, but rainfall intensity has the biggest impact. The relationship between these factors can be described using mathematical equations.
