Three breakthroughs in rice breeding methods in Liaoning Province were achieved. Firstly, hybridization between different rice species led to the development of successful rice varieties. Secondly, a new breeding method for japonica rice was introduced, resulting in the creation of three-line hybrid rice. Lastly, population breeding was implemented, combining conventional and hybrid rice breeding techniques.
