Boosting Rice Yields Could Feed Millions Worldwide
The study looked at how different ways of growing rice and using nitrogen fertilizer affect the amount of rice produced. They found that planting rice later can decrease the yield, and using the right amount of nitrogen is important for good yields. Having the right spacing between rice plants is also crucial, with a spacing of 16.5 cm x 20.0 cm giving the highest yield. Planting four, six, or eight seedlings per hole can also increase the amount of rice produced, with the highest yield seen when planting six seedlings per hole.
