Revolutionary Nitrogen Fertilizer Boosts Maize Yield and Nutrient Accumulation
The study looked at how different ways of growing maize and using nitrogen fertilizer affect the amount of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium in the plants. They found that adding nitrogen fertilizer increased the amount of maize produced, mainly by increasing the number of ears harvested. The levels of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium in the plants increased with more fertilizer, but not by much. A new way of growing maize helped the plants take in more nitrogen, and the efficiency of using nitrogen fertilizer improved compared to the traditional way of growing maize.
