Dominant vegetation types in Nuozhadu Nature Reserve revealed along gradients.
The researchers studied how different types of plants are distributed in Nuozhadu Nature Reserve in Yunnan Province. They used digital maps and software to create a model of the land and identify where different plants grow. They found that the type of land slope affects which plants grow there. Most areas had monsoon evergreen broadleaved forests, but some had different types like seasonal rainforests or temperate coniferous forests. The slope of the land had a big impact on where these plants were found. Overall, they identified the best slopes for each type of plant to grow.
