Heavy metals in crops pose health risks, study finds.
The study looked at how heavy metals build up in different crops. They tested nine heavy metals in crops and soil using a special method. They found that cereal crops had the least heavy metals, while leafy vegetables had the most. Each crop absorbed heavy metals at different rates. For example, lead and arsenic built up more in cereal crops, while copper built up more in leafy vegetables. Overall, different crops absorb heavy metals differently.
