Pulverized Coal Combustion Breakthrough Slashes Harmful Emissions, Greening Power Generation
The study looked at how to reduce harmful NOx emissions during coal combustion. By ensuring a good pyrolysis stage at the start and maintaining a reduction zone above the burners, more nitrogen in the fuel can be converted into harmless N2, lowering NOx emissions. The interaction between volatile matters and coal char, along with using low NOx burners and deep air-staged combustion, can further help reduce NOx emissions to a minimum level.
