Porcine oocyte vitrification breakthrough could revolutionize fertility treatments for millions worldwide.
The researchers tested different freezing methods on pig oocytes to see how well they could be preserved. They tried seven different solutions as freezing mixtures and found that some were less harmful to the oocytes than others. After the tests, the researchers found that two of the solutions worked best for freezing the oocytes effectively. They also looked at three carriers to see which was the most successful in the freezing process. A type of carrier called hemi-straw was found to be the most suitable for preserving the pig oocytes. This research helps in understanding how to freeze pig oocytes successfully for future use.
