University students facing internet addiction crisis, joint efforts needed for solution.
The study looked at how university students use the internet and if they are addicted to it. They found that over half of the students spent more than 2 hours online each day. The most common online activities were chatting, searching for information, and listening to music. About 4.1% of students met the criteria for internet addiction, and 8.6% were at risk of becoming addicted. Boys were more likely than girls to be addicted to the internet. The study suggests that students, schools, families, and communities should work together to address internet addiction among university students.
