The researchers studied sedimentary features in the Chang 61 oil reservoir group in the Western Mahuangshan area of the Ordos Basin. They analyzed rock cores, sedimentary structures, and logging data from over 12 wells to identify sedimentary environments. They found that the Chang 61 formation is located at the front of a delta, with mainly vertical anti-rhythm and short-period positive rhythm. This indicates a continuous progradation process.
