Pot cultivation stunts citrus growth, impacting photosynthesis and chlorophyll levels.
The study looked at how growing citrus plants in different sized pots affects their photosynthesis and chlorophyll fluorescence. Plants in large pots had similar photosynthesis rates to those in the field, but plants in small pots had lower rates. The efficiency of photosynthesis in plants grown in large pots was mostly the same as in the field, but in small pots, it decreased. Overall, the size of the pot affected how well the plants could use carbon dioxide and capture light energy for photosynthesis.
