Heavy minerals reveal origins shaping sedimentation in Qaidam Basin depression.
The researchers analyzed heavy minerals in Sanhu Depression to determine where they came from. They found that the main sources were metamorphic and eruptive rocks from different mountains. The south mountain influenced sedimentation in the South Slope and the North Slope's Sebei-Tainan Gas Field. The northeast mountain had a limited influence on areas like Yanhu and Yabaer. The north mountain had a slight impact on sedimentation in the depression.
