Boosting Summer Maize Yields by 19% with Key Nutrient Application
A study on summer maize growth found that using different element fertilizers can boost yield by 7.0% to 19.2%. Nitrogen fertilizer increased yield by 12.4%, while phosphate fertilizer increased it by 5.0%. Applying nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium improved soil nutrient levels and nutrient accumulation in plants. Soil available nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium increased by 13.60, 6.80, and 20.40 mg/L, respectively. Nutrient accumulation in maize plants also increased. Nitrogen was identified as the main limiting factor for high-yielding summer maize, followed by potassium and phosphorus.
