The article compares two methods for assessing polluted river water. One method is the average pollution index, which has limitations. The other method is the active pollution index, which is proposed as a better way to evaluate polluted river water. The researchers used the active pollution index to analyze light-polluted river water in Baicheng city. The comparison showed that the active pollution index method is more effective than the average pollution index method for assessing light-polluted river water.
