New research reveals key insights into soil moisture and salt distribution.
Soil moisture and salt content vary across fields, making it hard to study how water and salt move in soil. In a study of Tamari ramosissima Ldb. fields, soil samples were taken and analyzed. Results showed that soil moisture content follows a lognormal distribution, while salt content is mostly normal. Both are moderately variable across the field. Soil moisture and salt content are related within a certain distance. By using the CoKriging method, estimated variance can be reduced by 121.48% compared to ordinary Kriging.
