Climate change in Shiyang river basin leads to severe drought threat.
The study looked at climate changes in the Shiyang river basin from 1960 to 2009. They analyzed temperature, precipitation, and evaporation data from five weather stations. The results show that air temperature has been increasing at a rate of 0.25 ℃ per decade, higher than the global average. The eastern part of the basin has seen a higher temperature increase than the western part. Precipitation is higher in the west, but the increase is not significant. Evaporation has been increasing in most areas, leading to potential droughts due to higher temperatures and evaporation.
