Yangtze River Diversion Boosts Water Quality, Curbs Pollution in Northern Jiangsu
A model was created to control pollution in a water-diluting channel in northern Jiangsu province. By calculating the water's capacity to handle pollutants, the model showed that increasing water diversion from the Yangtze River can improve water quality downstream. While the main river meets quality standards, tributaries suffer from intense point pollution. The study suggests strategies to enhance water quality in the area.
