The study analyzed the water quality of rural drinking water projects in Yongding County, Fujian Province from 2011-2012. They found that most of the water sources were surface water, with only a small percentage treated completely. The overall water quality was low, with microbiological indicators exceeding standards. The main issue was lack of disinfection treatment, leading to potential water-borne infections. Recommendations include improving water source protection, disinfection, supervision of water projects, and health monitoring.
