The researchers studied how different amounts of water and soil moisture affect the growth of maize plants. They used a special design to test this in pots. The results showed that the tallest maize plants with the most weight were found when the soil had 13.3% moisture and received 76.6 mm of water. Other optimal conditions were also identified for different plant parts.
