Untapped Treasure: Coalbed Methane Reserves Discovered in Middle-High Rank Coal
The study looked at different types of coal to see how much coalbed methane they contain. They found that middle-high rank coal has the best ability to hold methane, making it the best choice for exploring coalbed methane. High rank coal has a lot of methane but not as good at holding it, while low rank coal has the least methane and is hard to preserve. If there's enough coalbed methane and the right conditions, it can be extracted.
