Grazing pattern control boosts plant growth in meadow steppe.
Different grazing patterns were studied in a meadow steppe to see how they affect plant communities. The researchers looked at five treatments with varying levels of grazing intensity. They found that moderate grazing in summer and heavy grazing in autumn led to higher plant density, height, and coverage. This treatment also had higher plant diversity compared to other grazing patterns. The total amount of plant material was highest in paddocks with moderate grazing in summer and heavy grazing in autumn. Overall, the best vegetation characteristics were observed in paddocks with this specific grazing pattern.
