New Study Reveals Optimal Conditions for Isopropyl Alcohol Absorption on Activated Carbon
Researchers used computer simulations to study how activated carbon absorbs isopropyl alcohol under different conditions. They found that the size of the micropores in the activated carbon affects how much alcohol can be absorbed. Activated carbon with smaller micropores absorbed more alcohol at low pressure, while larger micropores were better at higher pressures. The width of the pores also played a role in the absorption process. The best temperature to remove the absorbed alcohol from the activated carbon was 140℃.
