Revolutionizing Desalination: Low-Temperature Method Beats Reverse Osmosis for Power Plants
The article compares two methods for removing salt from water in power plants: low-temperature multi-effect distillation and reverse osmosis. The study found that low-temperature multi-effect distillation is more effective and cost-efficient than reverse osmosis. Specifically, using one-level reverse osmosis is a good alternative to low-temperature multi-effect distillation. The research also analyzed two desalination options for a specific plant and determined the best approach.
