New fertilizer reduces ammonia emissions from soil by up to 59%!
Humic acid urea fertilizers can reduce ammonia volatilization in soil compared to regular urea. The reduction in ammonia release is influenced by the amount of water-soluble humic acid in the compound urea. The way the nutrients are released from the fertilizer and the conditions of the soil also play a role in controlling ammonia volatilization. Soil urease activity is closely linked to the initial release of ammonia, while the leaching rate of nitrogen in the soil is strongly correlated with the total amount of ammonia released. Additionally, the content of NH+4-N in the soil at the beginning of the experiment affects the volatilization of ammonia.
