The study looked at how adding lime, sand, or a mix of both affects the compaction of lateritic soil. They found that the optimal moisture content of the soil increased with more lime, but decreased with more sand. Adding sand had a bigger impact on compaction than adding lime. Different mixtures had different compaction characteristics.
