The researchers prepared oxidized pellets from Chengchao iron concentrate by adding bentonite as a binding agent. They found that the iron concentrate can be pelletized effectively with 2.5% bentonite, 8.5% to 9.8% moisture, and a pelletizing time of 30 minutes.
