The researchers studied how using slow-release fertilizer on direct-seed rice affects the crop. They found that using slow-release fertilizer instead of regular chemical fertilizer can increase rice yield by 3%-6%, improve fertilizer utilization by 4-5 percentage points, and boost economic benefits by 219.0-327.9 yuan per hectare.
