New Fertilizers Boost Summer Maize Yield by Up to 15.9%! 🌽🌱
The researchers studied how different fertilizers affect the yield and nutrient accumulation of high-yield summer maize. They found that using nitrogen and potassium fertilizers increased the maize yield significantly. Nitrogen and potassium were the main nutrients limiting plant growth. The plants absorbed the most nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium during the jointing to large bugle stages. Recommended fertilization led to a higher yield per kilogram of nutrients applied, with recovery rates ranging from 14.55% to 18.34%. Overall, the study showed that proper fertilization can increase maize yield and nutrient accumulation effectively.
