The north coastline of Changjiang Estuary has changed over time, shifting from a bay with sand bars to merging into land. This transformation began around 4,000 years ago, leading to the gradual expansion of the land in the Estuary. As a result, the coastline of north Changjiang Estuary has moved southeastwards.
