The main goal of the study was to design a stable foundation for air compressors on soft ground in coastal areas. The researchers compared two foundation schemes and found that using a combination of rigid-flexible and long-short pile composite foundation is more reliable for controlling settlement. Simply changing the length of the piles did not have a significant impact on reducing vibration displacement.
