Waterlogged soil in Jianghan Plain requires urgent nutrient intervention for improved fertility.
The study evaluated soil and water characteristics in Jianghan Plain. Results showed that most soil had pH levels between 6.5 and 8.5, with little acidity. Soil had medium levels of nutrients, with organic matter and nitrogen higher in waterlogged areas. Soil potassium and phosphorus levels were medium but not evenly distributed. The soil was not salinized. To improve soil fertility, organic manure and potassium and phosphorus fertilizers should be used in low-fertility areas.
