They analyzed data from 30 regions over 8 years, considering factors like population density, environmental policies, and technology. The results showed that as China's GDP per person increases, SO2 emissions per person first go up, then down, forming an N shape. Control variables had both positive and negative effects on the environment. The study suggests targeted policies to reduce SO2 emissions and improve air quality.
