Thinning Taiwania flousiana forests leads to significant growth improvements.
A study looked at how different levels of thinning affected the growth of Taiwania flousiana trees in a forest. They tried very strong, strong, weak thinning, and no thinning at all. After 3 years, they found that strong thinning (40% of trees removed) was the best for the trees' diameter, volume, and density. Thinning had a big impact on tree growth, but not so much on height.
