Lead pollution in topsoil along Minjiang River poses health risks.
The researchers used spatial analysis methods to study the distribution of lead in topsoil samples from Wutongqiao county near the Minjiang River. They found that lead content in the soil had a clear spatial structure and showed significant spatial autocorrelation along the river's direction. The map created using the Kriging method indicated that the bank and urban-rural marginal areas were the most contaminated by lead, suggesting non-point source pollution in these areas.
