Phosphorus fertilizer helps flue-cured tobacco grow better. When more fertilizer is used, the plants get taller, have thicker stems, more leaves, and produce more tobacco. But too much fertilizer can lower the price and quality of the tobacco leaves. The best results were seen when 105-210 kg of phosphorus fertilizer was used per hectare.
