The researchers studied the sedimentary facies of tight sandstone in an oil reservoir in China. They found that the main sedimentary facies is a river-controlled lake braided delta system. By analyzing core and logging data, they identified underwater distributary channel and debouch bar deposits as the most favorable reservoir sand bodies. This discovery will help in oil and gas exploration in the area.
