The researchers studied how treating corn stalk with different chemicals and ultra low temperature affects its breakdown. They found that using NaOH and ultra low temperature worked best, breaking down the stalk's structure and producing more sugar. The best results for biogas production came from pretreating the stalk with liquid nitrogen.
