Optimal sowing time and plant density boost millet yield significantly.
The researchers studied how the timing of planting and the number of plants per area affected the growth and yield of a millet variety called Changnong No.35. They found that planting on May 15 with a density of 450,000 plants per hectare resulted in the highest yield. The timing of planting had a big impact on how long the plants took to grow, while the plant density didn't affect the growth period. The combination of planting date and plant density had a significant influence on the yield and characteristics of the plants.
