Holocene study reveals shifting vegetation patterns in Loess Plateau area.
Researchers used high-resolution pollen analysis to study vegetation changes in the Loess Plateau area and the Desert-Loess Transition Zone during the Holocene. They found that the environment in the Desert-Loess Transition Zone was better in the early Holocene compared to the Loess Plateau area, but in the late Holocene, the vegetation characteristics shifted. This suggests that the two regions had different vegetation patterns over time.
