Optimal Calcium and Phosphorus Levels Found for Adult Beagle Dogs
The study aimed to find out how much calcium and phosphorus adult beagle dogs need in their diet. The researchers tested different levels of these minerals in the dogs' food and measured how much was absorbed by their bodies. They found that a diet with 0.52% calcium and 0.39% phosphorus is best for adult beagle dogs. Increasing the levels of these minerals did not significantly change how much was absorbed by the dogs, except for very low levels of phosphorus. Overall, the dogs had a good balance of calcium and phosphorus in their bodies with the optimal dietary levels.
