Municipal waste treatment in China is shifting from landfills to incineration. A study assessed four incineration technologies based on reliability, cost, and suitability. Fluidized bed incineration is best for big cities, while layered incineration suits modernized cities. Rotary kiln and pyrolysis are for small cities or industrial areas with complex waste. Dioxin emission control is crucial for these technologies.
