New leaf age diagnosis method boosts rice yield and cuts pollution.
In this experiment, a new method for determining the age of leaves and applying fertilizer was tested against traditional methods. The results showed that using the leaf age diagnosis method increased nitrogen fertilizer production by 3.9% compared to the conventional method. By matching the fertilizer to the age of the rice leaves, the new method improved nitrogen fertilizer use, reducing environmental harm. When applying specific amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, the leaf age diagnosis method led to a rice yield of 8,452.9 kg per hectare.
