The article discusses lessons learned from beach nourishment projects in Qinhuangdao to combat coastal erosion and beach degradation. Different approaches were used for Western Beach, Jinmeng Bay Beach, Laohushi Beach, and Eastern Beach. Western Beach used dune-beach-sand bar submerged breakwater beach nourishment, Jinmeng Bay Beach focused on sand nourishment on berm, Laohushi Beach required protection instead of sand nourishment, and Eastern Beach needed daily maintenance. The experiences and lessons from planning, design, implementation, and monitoring of the projects were summarized, including discussions on beach life, sand bar engineering risks, and other related issues.
