New Rice Planting Method Boosts Yields, Promises Food Security Revolution
The study aimed to understand how to achieve high yields in mechanical transplanting rice by analyzing different rice cultivars. They found that pot seedling rice had significantly higher yields compared to carpet seedling rice, mainly due to more spikelets per panicle. Pot seedling rice also had earlier tillering, better leaf area index, and higher dry matter accumulation. The key to high yields was strong seedlings, efficient photosynthesis, and active roots throughout the growing stages. In conclusion, pot seedling rice with specific characteristics and growth patterns can lead to increased productivity in mechanical transplanting systems.
