Fotan Bay's Alarming Pollution Threatens Coastal Ecosystems and Public Health
The researchers assessed Fotan Bay water quality using different methods and found that most pollutants were within government limits, except for inorganic nitrogen and active phosphate. These two pollutants are the main factors affecting the bay's water quality. Fotan Bay is experiencing serious eutrophication and moderate organic pollution, with better water quality in autumn compared to spring. This study aims to provide a scientific basis for managing sea resources in Fotan Bay.
