The study looked at how anchor piles in a retaining structure in Handan deform horizontally as a deep pit is excavated. They found that the top beam's deformation increases as the pit gets deeper, but the amount of deformation varies at different points. This means that when designing similar structures, the time and space effects of the excavation should be taken into account.
