Tillage Methods Boost Maize Yields and Soil Health for Farmers.
Different tillage methods affect soil properties and maize yield. Deep ploughing and subsoiling improve soil moisture, reduce bulk density, and increase nutrients and organic matter, leading to higher maize yields. No-tillage, however, increases bulk density and decreases maize yield compared to conventional tillage. Choosing the right tillage method can enhance soil structure, increase water content, organic matter, and crop productivity.
