Climate change intensifies flooding in Danjiangkou Reservoir, study finds.
The study analyzed flood characteristics and future responses at the Danjiangkou Reservoir. By using data from 1969 to 2008 and climate change models, the researchers simulated maximum flood volumes in the Han River valley. They found that extreme flood volumes are influenced by climate change, with the generalized Pareto model showing better results than the generalized extreme value model. This suggests that future climate changes will directly impact flood extremes in the region.
