The article discusses how non-point source pollution is a significant issue in China's water quality. While most pollution research has focused on point sources like factories, this study highlights the importance of also tackling non-point sources like runoff from farms and urban areas. The goal is to develop methods to estimate the pollution loads from non-point sources. By understanding and quantifying this type of pollution, efforts can be directed towards controlling and managing it effectively to improve water quality in China.
